The Uganda Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the PAMOJA Africa Cup of Nations 2027 (AFCON 2027) has called upon qualified Ugandan businesses to position themselves for procurement opportunities by registering for pre-qualification as suppliers of goods and services ahead of the continental tournament.
Speaking during a press briefing at the Uganda Media Centre in Kampala on Wednesday 22nd July, 2026, Chairperson of the LOC Communications and Promotions Sub-Committee, Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba, urged interested companies to take advantage of the ongoing Request for Information (RFI) exercise, which seeks to establish a database of competent and reputable suppliers to support Uganda’s preparations for AFCON PAMOJA 2027.
The pre-qualification exercise, which is ongoing through the Uganda Tournament Management System (TOMAS), commenced at the beginning of July and closes at the end of the month, is part of the LOC’s broader procurement planning for the tournament. Successful applicants will form the pool of suppliers eligible to participate in competitive bidding when the LOC launches tenders expected between September and October 2026.
“We invite all qualified, experienced and reputable potential suppliers to register their interest by undertaking the pre-qualification process. This is an opportunity for Ugandan businesses to become part of delivering one of the biggest sporting events ever hosted in our region,” Dr. Mugimba said.
He noted that procurement opportunities will span a wide range of sectors, including hospitality, catering, transport and logistics, information and communication technology (ICT), media and communications, digital engagement and production, branding, medical services, safety and security, event management, consultancy services, documentary production, fan zones and park management, souvenir production, office supplies and several other professional services.
To qualify for pre-qualification, businesses must be legally registered in Uganda, registered with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), tax compliant, experienced in their respective fields and free from litigation or records of non-performance. Only suppliers that successfully complete the pre-qualification process will be invited to submit proposals once tenders are officially launched.
Dr. Mugimba further emphasised that the LOC’s procurement process will be conducted in accordance with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Procurement Policy and Uganda’s obligations under the AFCON PAMOJA 2027 Host Agreement, ensuring transparency, fairness and value for money throughout the procurement cycle.
He also reminded businesses that registration for pre-qualification is free of charge and encouraged interested suppliers to complete the online registration through the LOC Supplier Registration Portal: https://afconpamoja.ug/tomas/suppliers/register before the deadline.
The ongoing supplier registration forms part of Uganda’s wider preparations to successfully co-host the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 alongside Kenya and Tanzania. The tournament is expected to create significant business opportunities for local enterprises while strengthening Uganda’s capacity to host major international sporting events.
