CAF Opens Supplier Registration Ahead of TotalEnergies AFCON PAMOJA 2027

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), through the Local Organising Committee (LOC), has issued a Request for Information (RFI) inviting potential suppliers from across Africa and beyond to register for inclusion in CAF’s database of prospective service providers ahead of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 tournament.
Addressing the media during a press briefing at the Uganda Media Centre this Tuesday 19th May, 2026, Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba, Chairperson of the Communications and Promotion Sub-Committee, announced that CAF will soon release a series of tenders for various goods and services required to support the successful delivery of AFCON 2027.
Dr. Mugimba emphasized that interested suppliers must first complete and submit the RFI through CAF’s official website in order to qualify for consideration in future tenders.
“Only suppliers who have registered through CAF’s official platform will be notified about upcoming tenders once they are released,” he said.
The RFI seeks information relating to supplier identity and operational capability, including legal status, physical and postal address, and corporate website details.

According to Dr. Mugimba, CAF is seeking prospective suppliers in a wide range of service areas including catering, ticketing solutions, translation services, communication and digital services, broadcasting, hospitality, transport and logistics, fan zone management, IT solutions, branding and signage, event operations, and general supplies among others.
Dr. Mugimba clarified that the current exercise is strictly for market mapping purposes and does not constitute an invitation to tender, request for proposal, or any procurement commitment by CAF or the LOC.
“This Request for Information is entirely free of charge and is intended only to build a database of prospective suppliers for future competitive procurement processes,” he noted.
He further clarified that the current RFI relates solely to goods and services that will be procured directly by CAF, and not by the Local Organising Committee. The LOC, he said, will at a later stage issue separate calls for services and supplies to be executed exclusively within Uganda in line with CAF procurement policies.
The LOC will support the dissemination of CAF’s RFI through national print media and its official digital platforms.

Call to Accommodation Facility Owners

Dr. Mugimba also reiterated the LOC’s earlier appeal to proprietors of accommodation facilities to engage with the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) regarding accreditation requirements for tourist accommodation services ahead of AFCON 2027.
He encouraged owners of hotels, apartments, hostels, lodges, guest houses, and private homes interested in offering accommodation services through platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com to begin preparations early.
“You do not become an Airbnb or Booking.com service provider simply by referring to yourself as one. There is an application and quality assessment process before listing on these platforms,” he explained.

Infrastructure Progress Updates

Providing updates on infrastructure developments related to AFCON 2027 preparations, Dr. Mugimba reported steady progress across several sectors.
He confirmed that construction and upgrade works are progressing well at Akii-Bua Stadium, Mandela National Stadium Namboole, and Hoima City Stadium.

He also revealed that all designated training facilities, except FUFA Kadiba Stadium and Sir Tito Winyi SS grounds, have already been handed over to the UPDF Engineering Brigade, with works ongoing satisfactorily.
In the health and transport sectors, contractors have already been identified for the upgrading of Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, Masindi General Hospital, Buseruka Health Centre III, and access roads around Hoima City Stadium and Namboole Stadium. Contract awards are expected to be finalized soon.
Additionally, CAF has provided technical input to the LOC regarding the upgrade of selected hotels within the Hoima–Masindi cluster. A shortlist of up to 12 hotels has reportedly been recommended to the Uganda Development Bank (UDB) for consideration under the government credit facility program.
Once due process is completed with UDB, the beneficiary hotels will be publicly announced in the interest of transparency and accountability.
The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 tournament will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania under the PAMOJA partnership framework, marking a historic moment for East African football and regional cooperation.
