Today, Tuesday 21st April 2026, a delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) arrives in Uganda to conduct a crucial two-day crucial workshop with the PAMOJA Host Nations of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda as a way of kick-starting the preparations for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027.
The workshop runs from Wednesday, 22nd to Thursday, 23rd April 2026 here in Kampala. By the end of the workshop, CAF and the PAMOJA Host Nations shall give an update on the delivery priorities for the next phase of preparations for AFCON-2027.
The meeting brings together representatives of the Governments of the three host nations led by their responsible Ministers for Sports, the Presidents of the three Football Federations, Acting CAF General Secretary Samson Adamu accompanied by CAF senior administration officials. It is important to note that this is not a CAF inspection visit for the AFCON-2027 competition and support facilities.
The workshop is a sign of CAF’s commitment to supporting the PAMOJA Host Nations for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027 and marks an important step in the collective determination and coordinated process of planning and focus on key functional areas critical to the successful delivery of the Competition. These areas include safety and security, infrastructure, procurement, finance, media, ticketing, and commercial operations.
As the LOC, we thank Maama Janet Museveni for hosting this meeting. Building strong coordination mechanisms and operational readiness across all core areas is critical for successful tournament delivery. The Media will have the opportunity for a Mixed Zone on Wednesday, 22 April and Thursday, 23 April. The AFCON-2027 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will provide more details.
