Uganda made its CHAN debut in 2011 in Khartoum, Sudan under coach Bobby Williamson. Placed in Group A with Sudan, Algeria and Gabon, the Cranes started with a 1-1 draw against Algeria with Ibrahim Saddam Juma scoring Uganda’s only goal of the tournament. They then lost 1-0 to Sudan and 2-1 to Gabon exiting at the group stage.
